July 6-7 Weekend Programming Drew Record Numbers of Men, Women, and HH
(Indian Land, SC – July 11, 2019) General Entertainment network INSP set multiple records for weekend ratings on Saturday and Sunday, July 6-7, 2019. The announcement was made by INSP’s COO, Dale Ardizzone.
“For most networks, July is a slow time,” Ardizzone said. “But our audiences continue to give us blockbuster ratings.” Ardizzone noted that the records were in part a byproduct of INSP’s “Duke Days of Summer” promotion, featuring several films starring John Wayne.
According to Nielsen data, INSP set nineteen annual records on Saturday, highlighted by the John Wayne classic, El Dorado, which peaked at a .788 HH rating at 10:30p. INSP attracted record numbers of both men and women. For that half-hour the film generated a .637 HH rating for women 45+ and a 1.000 rating for men 45+, and adults 50+ averaged .899. INSP averaged a .401 rating for the total entertainment day (up 16.2% from 2018). For 24/7 INSP averaged a .313 HH rating, an increase of 15.9% from 2018.
INSP’s Sunday ratings also set several records. Sunday 24/7 and entertainment day ratings were the third highest of any day in network history. 24/7 ratings were 37.8% higher than the same weekend in 2018. Total entertainment day ratings were 41.5% higher! Rio Lobo, airing at 8p on Sunday, averaged a 0.792 HH rating, becoming the highest-rated film in network history.
The record-setting weekend continued the network’s growth track. “2019 has generated the highest ratings of any year in our history, with ratings continuing at a record pace,” Ardizzone continued. “We’ve seen huge audiences for acquired content as well as original and exclusive films and series.”
“Viewers have told us that they watch INSP for the programs but also because they trust us to provide a consistent entertainment experience,” Ardizzone said. “The ratings last weekend prove our success in becoming the go-to network for millions of Americans every week.”
